The Mutaytor

Employing 50 different drums culled from four continents, the Mutaytor’s thundering tribal-techno music offers a serious assault.  So why would these earplug ambassadors be asked to perform for 2,500 students at Gallaudet University, the nation’s largest school for the deaf?  Well, as impressive as the Mutaytor’s Blue Man Group meets Venice-drum-circle percussion-palooza is, the accompanying visual spectacle is the real show.  Featuring an incredible array of sensual modern dancers, sword-swallowers, aerial acrobats, fiery hula-hoop swingers and all manner of fire-breathers and flamethrowers, the Mutaytor is less a Cirque du Soleil and more of a Cirque en Soleil.  After you witness Dr. Megavolt flirt with a tesla coil that’s producing 1.3 million volts of electricity – enough to fry an elephant, much less a man – you’ll understand what I mean.  But don’t worry.  When I say these guys are on fire, I just mean they’re hot.
